YOUR CENTER'S MISSON

To empower under-served neighborhoods in north and east Flint, MI by:
  • Assisting residents to identify and prioritize needs of their neighborhoods.
  • Enabling residents to define those services that will provide for their health,         well-being and safety.
  • Promoting solutions to social issues unique to each neighborhood.
  • Leveraging community informatics to (a) enhance sociotechnical capital, (b) sustain positive health behaviors, and (c) build technical capacity.

Additionally, YOUR Center's four-point philosophy is:
  • To facilitate communication and cooperation between faith communities, residents, and other community organizations.
  • To reduce the spread of HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) through community and individual education and the use  of successfully demonstrated prevention strategies.
  • To avoid duplication of services by collaborating with existing agencies to provide comprehensive coordinated social services.
  • To advocate for policies and programs that will improve the quality of life.
